More incredibly sad news tonight as Jason Leffler died from injuries sustained in a practice accident at Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey. He was in a sprint car. He was one of my favorite Nationwide regulars when he was full time and seemed like a hell of a guy. Makes it even sadder when he leaves behind a 5 year old son and a wife.

Damn!
That is terrible news. Must have been a hell of an accident. Those things flip all the time with (seemingly at least) minimal injuriesl
RIP

It seems he died from the impact with the wall, which is usually the case with sprint and similar styled dirt track cars. Maybe this will be the unfortunate start to safer racing for sprint cars.
Yup, would explain why I couldnt find the race today...
Congrats to RHR, as well as Sato with a 7th place and most laps led. Keeping him at 4th in the standings. Also looks like Dario and Power may have gotten their stuff sorted out a bit, but too late by now.

Watching Le Mans. We had a huge crash 15 mintues in for the #95 Aston Martin Vantage and it's just been anounced that driver Allan Simonsin has died in hospital. RIP to one of the most experienced and talanted drivers in GT racing.
Gah I never hear about LeMans, shall tune in now. (I cant even watch all of it if I wanted, it usually has breaks during the day for other stuff) Damn, so many deaths recently :(

AJ Allmendinger picked up his first NASCAR win today at Road America in the Nationwide race! I'm so happy to see him pull it off and I'm sure Penske's proud.
And a pretty funny post race interview with Max Papis after he slapped Billy Johnson:

All the talk of Le Mans I forgot to mention that Kubica won the WRC2 class in Rallye Sardinia yesterday and was 9th overall, scoring his first WRC points as well.

Superb!
Ah I love Road America, great track. Was always one of my favorites behind LaGuna Seca and probably Road Atlanta.
Also Indy at Iowa, Helio on pole. I've missed a couple but really been better with Indy this year, and it's been a wild year Could be a good day for RHR, has a good record here and he won Iowa last year, after winning Milwaukee. Let's see if history repeats
Wow. The 24 hours of LeMans has been won by Tom Kristensen, his 9th win. He may very well hold the record forever. Of course congrats to co drivers Allan McNish on his 3rd win and Loic Duval on his first ever. Must be a strange feeling to win such a major race that had a tragedy in it.
Well, that was just dominance. Hinchcliffe took off from the front and just never relinquished. Held off a few battles with Rahal but really he was untouchable today. 3rd win of the season and I believe his first oval.
Huge drive for RHR, from 21st to 2nd. He's a bit peeved at the lapped traffic that slowed him up at the end but there was no way he was getting Hinch anyway. And Kanaan had some difficulties but grabbed 3rd at the end Andretti and Helio also finish in the top 10. Great results and RHR is right at the points lead now!

Just got back a couple of hours ago from the Cup race in Sonoma. Another awesome race from that fun track that saw Martin Truex, Jr. snap a winless streak of 218 races that spanned all the way back to 2007 when he won his first race at Dover. Jeff Gordon finished 2nd (awesome), Edwards 3rd and Kurt Busch 4th. Kyle seemed to have a really fast car today, but between getting wrecked twice and speeding on pit road, he had a horrible day, finishing in the mid-30's (not awesome, I had to suffer in my KB shirt and hat ).
Pretty fun race in Iowa today, for sure, and now the points have tightened up even more! Should make the rest of the year pretty crazy.
Oh damn missed Sonoma :(
That really sucks, at least Truex won, I cant believe that guy is still around! After his great success in the Busch series never really panned out in Cup. A NJ native so always liked him lol ya know can't really say motor racing is thought of from this state, though we have some well known tracks/venues and F1 keeps dangling this race in front of us
