Hey there!

Thanks a lot for the fantastic post, this would be fantastic to be added to the mighty Prog Archives impressive database!

I did not know you could suggest new bands so I will do as you suggest - see if anyone picks your post up then if not start a new thread.

Okay - the album was released yesterday, so let's have a look see..

English band Opposing Motion was created in 2006. With the release of an independent debut EP “The Illustration” in 2010 the band has become known on as one of the hot underground progressive metal acts. Now, more than two years later they have recorded their first full-length debut album entitled “Laws of Motion” which was released on 11 May 2013 on Lion Music.

Opposing Motion plays Symphonic Progressive Power Metal with elements of Neo-Classical and influences of Prog Rock. Some similarities with Elegy, Symphony X and German band Abraxas have been suggested. Music is complex, varied and melodic with a slightly dark atmosphere. The sound is very rich and deep, with orchestral sounding arrangements.

I think our blacksmith guys refer to this sort of stuff as 'Vanilla Prog Metal', but I'm sure it stands a pretty fair chance of getting you added to the site.

Hi Guys,

As a long-standing massive fan of the Prog Archives pages, I have decided today to take the plunge and introduce, OPPOSING MOTION, a prog-metal band that was formed in late 2006 and was heavily inspired by iconic heavy/prog bands (such as SYMPHO X, CRIMSON GLORY, FATES WARNING, ROYAL HUNT) as well as by new rising stars of the prog-world like PAGAN'S MIND, CIRCUS MAXIMUS or ASPERA (ABOVE SYMMETRY). After a very well received first E.P in 2010, the band has recently been signed by legendary prog label LION MUSIC (SEVENTH WONDER) to release our first album entitled "Laws of Motion".
