HAWKWIND
Warrior on the Edge of Time

Atomhenge, the Cherry Red Records label managed by Esoteric Recordings, the home
of the entire HAWKWIND catalogue released between 1975 and 1997, are very
pleased to announce that the classic HAWKWIND album “WARRIOR ON THE EDGE OF
TIME”
will be released in May 2013 as a newly remastered edition from the original
stereo master tapes. Atomhenge label manager Mark Powell said; “Contrary to
popular myth, the master tapes of this classic album were never lost. They
remained in the United Artists vaults. The Atomhenge reissue will be the first
ever CD edition to be taken from the original first generation master tapes. All
previous editions have been taken from vinyl transfers or inferior copy master
tapes”.

Aside from a single disc remastered edition, there will be two other expanded
editions of the album. Mark Powell adds; “I’m extremely pleased to say that
Steven Wilson has mixed the album into a stunning 5.1 Surround Sound mix from
the original multi-track master tapes and has also undertaken a new stereo mix
of the album which has an amazing depth and clarity whilst remaining faithful to
the original release. “Warrior” is one of THE classic albums of the 1970s and is
a land-mark album in Hawkwind’s history. The forthcoming reissues will do
justice this magnificent record”.

Full details of the editions of “Warrior” will be announced in the coming weeks.
Cherry Red managing director, Adam Velasco added; “The album “Warrior on the
Edge of Time” has been unavailable officially on CD for many years and it is our
intention to make the forthcoming releases definitive editions in terms of audio
remastering (from the original master tapes), content and packaging”.

Hawkwind will be touring in April 2013 performing WARRIOR ON THE EDGE OF TIME,
with further dates planned later in the year. Confirmed dates are:

Saturday 30th March – Sunday 31st March
HawkEaster, Seaton Devon
Tuesday 2nd April - Cardiff The Coal Exchange
Wednesday 3rd April - Bath Komedia
Friday 5th April - Preston 53 Degrees
Saturday 6th April - Hawkwind headline Hard Rock Hell (HRH) Prog
Sunday 7th April - Norwich Epic Centre

Hope they release a nice 180 gram Vinyl with Bonus Materiel and   with original artwork that would truly be awesome
i am not one for buying CD's (Vinyl Junkie)  but like the Superb Levitation CD box, i will be getting this one,
indeed its lovely News  such a good album needs to be out there again !!!.

Also any one who loves Warrior  and Hall of the Mountain Grill really should check out Hawkwinds Last two Albums
Blood of the Earth  and Onward which really are like Modern day equivalents  of those two albums
they are Modern Space Prog Classics to my ears.

Roll on May !!! woot woot . fingers x for a Vinyl release so i can finally retire my original First pressing which is getting bit old now though but does still play and sound lovely.

Hawkwise, you have made me very happy with this news.

I too had always believed the myth that the master tapes had been lost.  Thankfully it was just that, a myth.

Can't wait for this.

I've been wanting to pick this up, but not for the outrageous prices I've seen online.  This is good news!

Not that I'll be rushing out. Got this email :

http://www.cherryred.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=4119 (box set)
http://www.cherryred.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=4120 (three disc)
http://www.cherryred.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=4121 (standard)

Hi guys

Please find above the link for the 3 editions of Hawkwinds-Warrior on the Edge of Time reissues due May 27th.   There are 3 editions,

a straight single CD remaster,

a 3 disc edition in small hinged box that features the remaster plus Steve Wilsons 5.1 surround mix and stereo remix plus all the bonus tracks etc.

A full box set with all of the above plus an exact vinyl replica, a full siz replica poster, a replica concert ticket of the time plus postcards and a full 48 page book .

The box set will be a limted edition (we arent exactly sure on the number yet-we are going to make sure that we  fulfill all the initial run) but when that initial run is sold out -that will be it.

The 3 disc edition will not be limited and will be in a small hinged box (Like Levitation).

For those that buy the full box set direct from Cherry Reds website as mentioned on my previous email, there will be a  download sent separately of the 1st run through on Assault and Battery. It wasnt felt as an "absolute essential" for the box, but will be of interest and is a nice bonus.

If I can also mention if you are overseas and the postage charge on the full box set -looks high if buying from Cherry Red -- there will be some copies that go to overseas wholesalers too including the USA--not loads , but there should be some out there-- but we cant guarantee of course their order numbers etc.

If I can also mention that there will not be a separate vinyl edition run. The exact replica vinyl is part of the box set.

For those fans on this mailing list who are all members of my CD club, I will be sending a mail out this afternoon, but in advance if I can say that i will not be selling the full box set via the club (the other editions are fine) The main reason for this is that I have a promise that I will always undercut Amazon. In this case, that wont be possible because of the postal cost side of things. Amazon have special rates due to volume and with postage costs on large boxes-its a huge difference.

A couple of club members had paid me already in advance of me mailing out officially for full box sets and I will honour those and email them accordingly.

Hope you enjoy these reissues guys --  Im sure they will be splendid and dont forget--the band will be doing Warrior on the Edge of Time on upcoming tour dates  www.hawkwind.com   Go see, if you can.

Kind Regards
Vicky Powell

I had the immense pleasure of working with Nik Turner of Hawkwind on my latest album. It was truly an honor, and his tracks are amazing!
