I'm quite confused here, because this has quite Heavy Sound, but also long tracks with elements (and atmosphere) of some artists filled under Exp/Post Metal category. And at the same time it has hints of Psych too, so ...

more wise men than me should decide Wink

the whole album here (just 128kbit/s, but enough to make a judgment)

P.S - at first, I thought there is a connection to "of the Well", but apparently, there is none. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

I've seen this band's most recent album 'A Sign Of Time'  described as the illegitimate love child of Neurosis and Hawkwind...Wonderful sludge-infused psychedelic rock, or a combination of doom metal and prog. Definitely one for the blacksmiths to sort out, I feel:

Thumbs Up

Edit: No connection to Maudlin of the Well...These guys here are from Belgium.
Good album review and some info/history here: http://www.themidlandsrocks.com/maudlin-a-sign-of-time/

Thanks for the additional links. I couldn't get there over all the illegal links google gives me. Gosh, it is free to download (in decent quality), why people need to pirate it in high bitrate is beyond my comprehension.

Still, glad you like it.

I listened to the new album ''A Sign Of Time'' first off and was thinking it sounded like heavy psych, perhaps favouring the psych. However ''Ionesco'' and the ''Solitary Echo'' EP definitely push the Post Metal/Sludge aspect. Tricky right enough, though overall I think the PM Team should have first refusal.
