Yeah I think that was their peak.
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

Yes Album by far, i don't think it is their ultimate best but it is my favorite and has most of my favorite Yes songs.

How convenient, my 3 favorite Yes songs are all on the same album. I pick Close to the Edge.

I'll go with those albums in that order.

1) Relayer
2) Close to the edge
3) Tales
4) Going for the one
5) Fragile
6) The Yes Album

Probably the greatest run of consecutive albums anyone's ever recorded. But pre - The Yes Album and post  - Going for the one - not really that interested.

Went with Relayer. Steve had a bit of a hard edge on this one, which I dig.

Other than one or two songs Tormato is awful and Anderson's voice is grating on it IMO.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

The Yes Album.  It seems to have really started their sound, even though it was there
in earlier albums, the length and power of Yours is No Disgrace really holds up today,
as well as Starship Trooper.  In fact, much of later Yes in some ways is in Starship Trooper.
In some ways, it's their funkiest album (as in Funky music as a good thing, not something
that may smell like old cheese).

I love how the votes are distributed in a nice, regular normal curve centred on Close To The Edge, skewed ever so slightly in favour of the latter options. Very elegant.
