Yes' great adventure for the listener.  They created a grand work that unlike so many albums cannot be easily assimilated after a few plays.  Decades later I still can be surprised pleasantly by something I'll hear in the background.  It also has a satisfying, almost spiritual component that makes me feel good.  Everyone's playing knocks me out, especially Howe.

I've said all this before in these polls, but Tales is special so I'll say it one more time. Smile

Who is the lovely lady in your avatar?

She's an actress Snowie, though not a popular one, and I didn't choose her because of that.  I just like striking, beautiful portraits.  Her name is Jan Smithers and she used to be on WKRP In Cincy

For me it's a close call between The Yes Album and Fragile.

Tales & Relayer get a bit too pompous for me at times. Even the longer tracks on CttE...

The only one I can clearly say I like better than the others is Relayer.  The ones that come after that include Tales, The Yes Album, Close to the Edge, and Going for the One.  After that comes Fragile and Tormato.  At the bottom lies Yes, Time, and Drama, but it is not like I don't like these albums.  In fact, I think they are all great.

Close to the Edge (my favorite album of all time), closely followed by Fragile and The Yes Album. Then nothing for a while.

I used to really like that show.

As to the poll, GFTO, my first prog album, and still much loved.

But I love 90125, too Big smile

Fragile over Relayer
Dig me...But don't...Bury me

My Top 3 are:

Tales from Topographic Oceans
Close to the Edge
Drama
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

I can't choose, but the three consecutive Close to the Edge, Tales, Relayer were the pinnacle for me.
