I'm just currently getting into prog metal, and from what I've heard, there aren't as many long songs in metal as there are in other genres. The only ones I can think of are Black Rose Immortal, several songs by dream theater, crimson by edge of sanity, and Back to times of Splendour by Disillusion. Can anyone recommend me metal songs in the range of 14-30 minutes. By the way, no power metal.

You might want to check out Green Carnation's Light of Day, Day of Darkness.  It clocks in at just over an hour of length, but is well worth it.

If you're not afraid of a little Black/Thrash listen to "The Melody of Death Mask" by Sabbat, it's the sole track thats makes up the album "The Dwelling" and runs for approx. 60min.

In that case, why not try Venom's 'At War With Satan' - an album I used to have years ago but been out of touch with for years.  I know the title cut is around 17 minutes long.

^Loved that song in high school. Before progmetal was a thing, I used to say it was an evil Yes song.

Fredrik Thordendahl "Sol Niger Within". Newer releases are broken into tracks, but its really a 47 minute long single piece.

Meshuggah's I is 21 minutes. The song Elastic is hard to add because the last 10 minutes is just a delay feedback loop. Also, Catch 33 is one continuous piece.

I really miss that band. It's sad that we can't hear Loreto sing another album. I'm still not sure why the band dried up. I know they went and played in/with other bands, but they ought to record another album with the Gritaré line-up. Unhappy

Voivod's Jack Luminous from The Outer Limits is a masterpiece of metal ;
Symphony X's The Oddyssey is amazing
Fates Warning's A Pleasant Shade of Grey is an album long song divided into lots of parts, also amazing...

What about Sleep's  "Dopesmoker"? 63 minutes 31 seconds.

Actually a lot of stoner doom has very long songs, but there are probably more speciality forums which discuss this.

Actually that Sleep song is not that good, maybe "Jerusalem" by them is better.

But much better (and longer) than Sleep is "El Mundo Frio" by Corrupted. Warning: the singing is NOT in Spanish, and the song gets MUCH louder at 10:41.

I know of one non-prog metal epic. Manowar did a 28 minute song, though the title escapes me at this moment.

All of the prog metal songs I know have already been mentioned.

Achilles: Agony and Ecstasy in 8 Parts is the Manowar song. Pure power metal, good pick.

As for me, Devil Doll has put out some pretty long songs, like...

The Sacrilege of Fatal Arms (79 minutes)
Dies Irae (49 minutes)

It's neo-classical avant-progressive metal. Awesome, I know.
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

As far as I know, "Jerusalem" is just a different, slightly shorter, edit of "Dopesmoker".
