THREE MONKS--NEOGOTHIC PROGRESSIVE TOCCATAS

incredible, wailing pipe organ attached to strong drums and rich bass lines. Three Monks even do an amazing cover of Goblin's Profondo Rosso.
Listen to this album LOUD and PROUD! ;)

Yeah, this is killer. RichardH just clued us in to their brand new second album, The Legend of the Holy Circle.

You can listen to it on their Myspace, too: https://myspace.com/the3monks/music/songs

Another 2013 gem.
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

skipping the obvious ones like rush, genesis... make sure to check out Focus, Twin Beaks, Porcupine Tree if not already on your list.

Not sure if they've already been mentioned but if you're open to instrumental prog post-punk, I'd say Dif Juz could sometimes fit the bill.

Gryphon:  S/t, "Red Queen to Gryphon Three" and "Midnight Mushrumps".

Release Music Orchestra - Garuda

The Cosmic Jokers: s/t and "Galactic Supermarket" (ok, there are a few spoken words on the latter, but I think they don't count.)

Clearlight - "Clearlight Symphony"

Ash Ra Tempel - s/t

Popol Vuh - "In den Gärten Pharaos" and "Affenstunde".

Edgar Froese - "Epsilon in Malaysian Pale" (not in the remixed version though, which I hate)

BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue.

These two have prolly been mentioned but.....
Bruford's three fusion albums are favorites of mine and
Liquid Tension Experiment has several nice hard prog fusion things out there

One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

Bo Hansson
Mike Oldfield
Tangerine Dream
The Enid
Gryphon
Henry Cow
Egg (not always, but their last album Civil Surface has only one song with lyrics).
Some of the stuff by Focus
Univers Zero
Quiet Sun
Supersister

These are just some I have on my mind.

OP hasn't visited the site in over three years, but his thread lives on Wink

Today I feel like recommending Makajodama:

Very nice album, juicy tunes stuffed with violin & cello.

Incredible instrumental album filled with beautiful crescendo, arpeggios and haunting bass lines by Fabio Pignatelli.
:)
Look out for tracks like Japanese Air, Dlen Dlon and Lost In The Universe.

Beautiful album.

I love Goblin's - Best tracks.  Covers quite a lot and the music blends in well with each other.
