Eloy is the keyboard player of the band Apocalypse (http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=23) and he also has an extense solo carrer in the Prog Rlrctronic area.
Names as Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Rick Wakeman, Tomita and Jean Michel Jarre are easily the biggest influences on his solo albums. He released last year his album number 10 called Exogenesis. Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/effsynth

Previously suggested by your good self in 2009:
... although had already been rejected by Prog Electronic in 2008.
But interestingly, Bob (clem) thought Symph might be a possibility:
Will also need to listen to ''Behind The Walls Of Imagination'' then.

A few more tubes:
Great music, but it's mostly described as cosmic new age and two of his main influences are themselves in Prog Related here.

1.- Iron Maiden isn't Prog either, they are in Prog Related
2.- Iron Maiden is a transcendental influence for Prog Metal, Eloy Fitsch is influenced mostly by Prog Related bands which don't grant the addition to Prog Related. 3.- Eloy Fitsch is not considered Prog in almost any place a) Proggnosis: Doesn't include him as Symphionic, they say electronic/General Prog b) Piero Scarulffi says:“Eloy Fritsch stands as the greatest Brazilian representative of the progressive eletronic and new age.” Already Electronic Prog has said NO , so only New Age is left (Something with what i agree) c) DPPR says: “Every track is choc full of sumptuous melodies and luxuriant layers of keyboards. There are many moments of impressionistic ambience but, whilst there are pretty melodies aplenty, it never quite stoops to the cloying sweetness beloved of many New Age artists. I would say that Vangelis was the biggest influence, particularly in the frequent use of choral samples. As you know, Vangelis is in Prog Related, so his influence doesn't grant an inclusion, and again the New Age component is present d) “Eloy FRITSCH performs an elegant electronic music that evolves between VANGELIS’ ambient & impressionist electronic, and the synthesised Progressive rock of masters such as Rick WAKEMAN or Patrick MORAZ. With "Space Music", the APOCALYPSE's brazilian keyboards player goes into parts that are worthy of those last two virtuosos.” Musea Editorial Review, 1998. Of course we know that Musea wants tgo sell the album to their target audience (which is Prog listeners), but the word AMBIENT says it all e)Progvisions says: “Mythology is a record that I've liked a lot personally. A record more symphonic than anything else creating some beautiful new age sound. Eloy Fritsch has been doing it like this from the beginning and he has become a master with great imagination and colors, you can't ask for more. Don't miss it.” Web site Progvisions - Jordi Costa - June 2002 Symphonic he isn't, that's for sure, and again the New Age moniker is present I place Wikipedia as a reference:
As you see, New Age again Reviews New Age, a site in Spanish devoted to New Age says
Allmusic: ITunes says
CD Universe says
Now, Eloy has at least ten albums...It's important to know that only one or two are somehow Prog Related. But as usual I trust more in my opinion, and I see him closer to New Age than to anything. I know people don't like to listen that their suggested artist is not Prog, and much less receive several quotes which they see as arrogance or aggressive behavior. That's not my intention, when I answer a suggestion, I have to support it, and my obligation is with Prog Archives, not with the artist. Sorry, but I confirm my initial opinion. Still, the Administrators have the last word on Prog Related, a decision I will accept without hesitation, because this is only my opinion and it's possible that i may be wrong according to other members criteria. You know the feeling, when some deep analyses leaves you speechless ? This is one of them. For the good or bad.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Quoting my partner in crime Vitaly Menshikov for this case - for the CD "Past and Future Sounds":
Keyboardist Eloy Fritsch is above all known for being the primary mastermind behind the Brazilian neo-prog band Apocalypse. However, he also has several solo albums to his credit. "Past & Future Sounds" is his latest release and is a compilation of 16 instrumental compositions, most (precisely three fourths) referring to his past work, regardless of what the title of the CD may suggest. Four previously unavailable pieces add nothing new to Fritsch's traditional sound, typical of each of his earlier solo creations. In all, the album is synth-based electronic music with either distinctly symphonic or spacey-avant-garde tendencies. Although the recording is not devoid of some attractiveness, as well as progressive elements, the CD can only be recommended exclusively to fans of the said style. The relation to Apocalypse one reason for prog-related, his status at proggnosis a likely supportive argument if someone wants to take the case there. |

Well, Eloy himself dont agree with you guys. I was talking to him yesterday by mail and he's wondering why his work cant be here while other that influenced his work and have similar work are.
And you dont know all of his albums, did you? Reading other statements only is kind risky. I know most of his albums, specially the newest ones. I can also give you many statements from other websites that gives him the Prog hand, that would help? Or only your sources matters? As well as Vangelis and Rick Wakeman, that made Symphonic, New Age, Ambient and Progressive Eletronic he's on the same path towards Prog most of the time. Prog Electronic, New Age, Symphonic, Prog Related everything belogs here, so... Edited by ProgShine - March 21 2013 at 08:33 |

He hars been rejected for electronic, and the symphonic teasm doesn't want him. With those two doors closed, just about the only option left is prog-related.
it's the opinions of the specialty team members that decides whether or not an artist is added into a specific category. What anyone else has to say about them matter is irrelevant. That's the way this website works. |

I think it would be fairer to say that he has been "rejected for electronic and symphonic". Without doubt the symphonic team's decision will also have been reached based only on the music. Whilst the teams rightly make the final decisions, I am sure they take into account the views expressed in the submissions. The system we have has been developed over the years the site has been in existence, and works well.

New Age not Progshine. But now it's the Administrator's call if somebody suggests him to Prog Related. Now, I don't bbelieve he's influential at all and influenced by Prog related artists (Even Wake3man's New Age period), so if I was to suggest him i would go with another arguments
Apocalypse has 7 albums (Six of them highly rated), and Eloy is tyhe founder, so that's the only valid argument for his inclusion IMHO Iván

So Prog-Related be it!
I guess it is fair enough if you listen all the albums! (Which, by the way, there's many options on All Music: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/eloy-fritsch-mn0000964354) |

I'll take the case, not because of the music (I believe he's not Prog), but because his role as leader of APOCALYPSE makes him a candidate to Prog Related. Iván
