Kracked Earth (UK/Australia) - Neo/Crossover Prog?

Musicians and life long friends Andy Kinch and Tim Lynk combine their talents from opposite sides of the planet to bring you "Kracked Earth", a new rock band for the internet age!

Recorded mainly via the internet, the album "Splash" was recorded in the UK, Australia and the USA.

Doug Scarratt: Electric and Acoustic guitars.

2012: KRACKED EARTH “SPLASH” (album):

 
‘Splash’ is the second album to feature Andy’s songs (the 1998 album 'Andy’s Diner' was actually the first CD to have all of Andy’s songs on one album. This was where he teamed up with Mick Lister for the first time, who, as well as producing the album, sang on some of the songs. Andy’s Diner also featured memorable performances by Kelly Groucutt, (ELO) Doug Scarratt, (Saxon) Simon Dennis, Butch Thomas, Steve Balsamo and Ian Seigal), and brings together some old friends and some new, for what was originally a bit of an experiment to see whether a musically credible project could be recorded over the internet. The idea was to not let limitations of distance stop musicians coming together and sharing the experience of playing together. The album features some wonderful playing by “special guests” Don Schiff on NS Stick Bass, Troy Donockley on Pipes and Whistles and ‘Butch’ Thomas on Soprano Sax. The ‘Splash’ album was recorded in the UK, Australia and the USA over the course of 3 years, with parts being emailed back to the UK and assembled into the song arrangements on Andy’s PC. Mick Lister completed the process of mixing the album September 2012.

This album gives us some wonderful melodic music...Just a shade of an AOR feel perhaps, but overall well worth a place on here I feel.
