Very close call between Bondage Fruit and 5uu's, I'm going with 5uu's although I don't think it's the best track out of this masterpiece album.

High Hopes
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Very close between High Hopes, Space Dye Vest, and Endless Dream. But since the one that is really competing to win is High Hopes, I go with that one.

I'm a fan of Space Dye Vest. It's brilliant, but it won't win this poll sadly. I voted for it anyways.
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

Endless Dream by Yes.

Other songs of which I thought: High Hopes, which has a nice theme, but is a bit thin, not too much happening.
I also thought of Landberk's song and the Dream Theater's Voices, but I vote for Yes this time.

High Hopes.
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

I voted for Dream Theater but would have been equally happy to go with Endless Dream or High Hopes. All great tracks.

Floyd's an unstoppable force. They've won  best track of the year with their debut album, Meddle, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and Momentary Lapse of Reason. And now it seems they may win for The Division Bell. The one album they *didn't* win with a track of the year is Dark Side of the Moon, amazingly enough. (I'm torn betw. The Great Escape and Hope; I've gone with Hope.)
Was not their debut album, was their 2nd in 1968.
lost to Nights in White Satin, in 1967

A-ha, I didn't realize :-) In a way, it's perfect that that Moody Blues track was the first winner, since they really did launch the whole thing, in such a central way. Do you have the link to that 1967 poll? I did a search and couldn't find it. I'm interested in having a look at what tracks made it to the final round, how close it was, etc. Cheers Smile
Was only one round at that time :
Only myself and one other person nominated tracks.

1968 it was growing a bit :

but 1970 was the first time, many tracks was nominated, and had to go 2 rounds.

Thank you! It makes sense that there weren't so many nominations, prog was still in its infancy and developing.
