If you're surrounded by very fussy people, they'll probably try and beat you. 

I think you can make two key improvements:
1'18 and 3'56 groove amazingly on Genesis.
Synth parts sound like a computer plays them, an accurate change of velocity values should "bio" it all.

Otherwise it definitely has life and soul, and I'd consider you did crack the LLDOB code ! You'd have to pick up a number of people there.
