these are drummers that got included in both bands third album and also become fundamental to each bands groove and drive, Bob Siebenberg with his steady but playfull style and Phil with his vulcanic yet icy aproach on the kit, warm yet temperate, Bob is a very creative drummer, one of the most creative drummers in rock IMO, very innovative, playfull groovs, fills and sound.
Phil probably prooved more that he could swing a 9/8 in Genesis then Bob could in Supertramp who rearly played anything other then 4/4 and 6/8, but i can't hear Phil give the same steady yet droning beat to Crime of the Century (title track) as Bob could or the varied grooves in Hide in Your Shell. both drummers are unique for their style and sound and emediatly recogniceable, Edited by aginor - March 19 2013 at 04:52 |

PhilCo by a long-shot. I have most Supertramp on cassette, but I cherish my vinyl of their amazing debut. I never found C Benberg's drumming to have much personality - kind of generic to me........

Collins by a wide margin!!! Siebenberg was always steady, but uninspired IMO.

A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Bob Siebenberg would readily admit Collins as the superior drummer.

Collins it must be. His work in Genesis before fronting the group is unreal and if you really want to hear some drumming, check out Brand X's "Unorthodox Behavior!"

Collins is one of the best drummers in prog---can't confuse his corny love songs with his drumming.

Well dude, I realize it's all subjective, and Supertramp's music didn't really require that much rhythmic prowess, but his drumming really wasn't that impressive - it just sounds so stale and lacks so much character. It's like he's keeping time more than anything. Edited by Fox On The Rocks - March 21 2013 at 15:36 |

besides Genesis and Brand X-- Collins was asked by Zep to do the drumming at Live Aid or some benefit----thought he was okay---but no one plays like Bonham.
