Deadwing beat out Frances The Mute,  Second Life Syndrome, ?, and Takk in the final for 2005.

Fear Of A Blank Planet is a bit overrated. I remember them debuting some of the material at The London Astoria including an early  version of Anesthetize. Steven Wilson was a little amused to the reaction when he said it was their first long song since the nineties. I like it and its certainly a good album but it doesn't oust Deadwing in my affections as far as PT albums go.

After some consideration and absence I went with In Absentia.  The Tangent and IQ were the other two that I was giving the most consideration to.

I'm giving my vote to the only album of these I own, Insurgents. I've lived with it for just a week, but it's already favourite of mine.

That's pretty cool. I always remember reading where the singer of TOOL mentioned that KING CRIMSON were a big influence on their sound.

How odd; I really don't like King Crimson!!

But it now does leave only one album I dislike intensely on that list and, as normal, that's winning.

I'd love to go with something more obscure here but really, "in Absentia" remains one of my all time favorite albums and it's pretty hard for me to vote against it.

Dark Matter followed closely by Out of Myself and Frequency, but some great albums there.

And as usual nowadays, the album I like by far the least of all of them is winning.
