So they indeed have a new album already (due out in June).  I see its been added here already.  Saw them perform the title track last night on Jimmy Fallon.  Rather a "noisy" song, so it was hard to get a good "feel" for it.  Seems interesting, in any case.

Fallon you say? My wife DVRs that show, i must check it out. I've heard a bit of the new song on youtube and it's promising.

Bummer... Brandi Carlisle was the musical guest on Fallon.  Sure you didn't mean Jimmy Kimmel?

Yay!
Thanks, good clip.
This could turn out to be one of their more "upbeat" albums, we'll see.  I generally prefer the depressing stuff, but this tune was a good one.

Yeah, really looking forward to this one. I'm actually loving the change in sound though. I'm hearing a lot of Industrial and Dark Ambient influences.

Yeah, I think that's what they're going for Steve. More from a rhythmic perspective, you can really hear it in Orri's drum now - they play such a big part now. I stayed up for that Jimmy Fallon performance though. That was probably my favourite song out of the two.

My wife even likes this one.  She once made fun of me for listening to them.

It seems like they're making this album significantly darker which will make for a good change.

If it's more industrial & darker then I'm likely to be a fan.

I was listening/watching the live DVD from a couple of years back, and she was in the next room and made a post on Facebook about it, about how slow and boring it was, and all my friends chimed in and agreed with her!  Some friends I have. Tongue

The more upbeat stuff is definitely more her thing.  She liked this new song well enough to share it on her Facebook wall.  I'll bet the fact it was on Jimmy Fallon had a lot to do with it, though.  She loves that guy.

Just finished my first listen.  Wow!!  Nothing at all like Valtari.  As I posted in another thread:
Noisy.
Majestic.
Brilliant!!

Hopefully its not one of those "loved it at first, but then..." situations.  It's by far their most aggressive album.  I think that even if you've never liked SR in the past you still must give this a listen.  I'm now regretting skipping their recent tour.  Hopefully they'll have another one soon!
