Right, your comment is not the silly one here...

That's okay, Earendil, one should not expect proper rebuttal from sheep.

But all sexual immorality is sin period. Every little lustful thought action (yeah the big M) and infidelity, fornication. It all separates us including myself from Christ. Only through Him can I be redeemed and cleansed and turn away from it all. Still growing and still do and will struggle, that is reality.

Mark 7:21-22 New International Version (NIV)

21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.

I assume you've somehow included homosexuality with that laundry list of transgressions against your deity. I would further add you may well be committing the sins of arrogance and folly when you subvert the text to include your opinion. He who throws the first stone and all that. From my readings, I don't believe Jesus mentioned homosexuality ever. If you can offer direct quotes and not your own fancies, then please do so.

As far as your opinion that "all sexual immorality is sin period", are you also including sexual relations between a husband and wife that precludes conception, such as when birth control is used, or after a woman has reached menopause, or if one or the other partner is infertile? If so, I can well see how most fundamentalists are a bit on edge. Wink

Mark 10:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

Again, upon reading this passage I am reminded of how fundamentalists of any religion pervert scripture to fit just about any notion, and in the process commit genocide, burn witches and war upon their neighbors. If I were wishing to subvert the text in a manner suiting my opinion, I would say that the phrase "and the two will become one flesh" could mean the point at which the penis enters whatever orifice one prefers. Voila! the two have become one.

The "two become one" thing has nothing to do with sex (or coitus or coyly "man parts and lady parts" or "the beast with two backs"), nor is it related to procreation ("two produce one"), but simply of marriage - the conjoining or uniting of two people [ conjoin - from Latin coniungerecom- + iungere, to join;] from wence we get conjugal, which also has nothing to do with sex, but means "of marriage" [conjugal - from Latin conjugalis, from conjunx wife or husband] ... which in turn comes from the ancient Greek myth of Salmacis and Hermaphroditus (whose name is a portmanteau of Hermes and Aphrodite [Mercury and Venus]) - Hermaphroditus symbolised the marriage partnership embodying the characteristics of both parties and thus Hermaphroditus symbolises the spiritual union of two people - life partners. No sex, no smut, no red-faces in class, no icky-stuff. In other religions and traditions this joining of two people is simply the holding of hands, a hand-fasting ... (just as in the christian marriage ceremony) ... this is not a symbol of sexual coupling where the male thrusts his strong hand into the compliant hand of his betrothed, nor is it a symbol of ownership - it is merely the joining of two people.  No sex, no smut, no red-faces in class, no icky-stuff.

After 30 years of non-christian, but perfectly legal marriage, my wife and I still hold hands when we are out together, just as we did for the two years we lived together perfectly legally but "in sin" in the eyes of a church that was not ours - holding hands is simply a joining "two people as one".

It's time the christian world got its mucky mind out of the gutter, stopped thinking about sex every 90 seconds and recognised the marriage partnership for what it is, the love of two people for each other.

I would add that freely consented sexual activity, when not being the result of coercion, cheating, hiding or lying to a partner, is a joyful and healthy activity, I hate it when someone calls it 'fornication'.

Herein lies the hypocrisy of the "Liberal-Minded" who boast himself of being "open-minded, tolerant, and diverse in thought and action". The thread went sour when I , as a Christian, voiced My Belief, based on the Word I find true, and immediately the attack started. Attacking Christians, Christianity, GOD, The Bible, and Jesus Christ . Go back and look and my original post, The sin of Homosexuality is condemned, the Sinner is offered Hope. Let it be noted, the Christians I know have infinitely more grace and love toward the Homosexual then many of you hypocrites have toward the Christian. But I guess thats the only way many of you can handle your rejection of Christ. Hate the Christian.  JOHN 15: 18-25..... See you in another thread !!

Have a nice day !!!       LOL

I would suggest that referring to human beings as "abominations" is not Christlike, nor is referring to opinions as "silly" based solely on someone's internet pseudonym. You say the sin of Homosexuality is condemned, but Pride is in fact one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Romans 2:1

Your definition of "grace" and "love" is just as skewed as your misinterpretation of Christ's message, particularly since Jesus never mentioned homosexuality once, did he? But you choose to ignore that and have no proper rebuttal save to proclaim your alleged martyrdom for an attack on your faith that never occurred. By the way, I never questioned Christian faith, but I do question the sort of fundamentalism you profess: a blind, intractable and wholly misguided mantra of rote rhetoric rattled off like you were learning multiplication tables.

I will always stand firm in my beliefs through Christ, but I want to leave this topic for good with a verse. John 3:16.
Good riddance to all my brothers and sisters in prog. (the greatest genre of all)

The funny thing is that this would be the most sensible thing for the Supreme Court to say

"Ten minutes into oral arguments". Such a great related history with the Supreme Court could have followed that.

Anyway, I agree. Whether one likes it or not, one just shouldn't give a sh*t and let things follow the inevitable course.

I don't hate Christians.  Far from it, I actually have a friend who is Christian.  Wink  What I do hate is intolerant, narrow-minded bigots who hide behind the so-called "word" of a rather questionable god to justify their bigotry.  I'm always stunned when bigots call out liberals for their intolerance of the intolerant.  Tolerance does not mean tolerating bigotry.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Gay folks simply want to experience the same sort of misery we married heterosexuals have experienced for years. Why that is, I am not sure. But it should make divorce lawyers quite keen on the idea.

That's the trick: the law is about marriage, but doesn't talk about divorce... IT'S A CONSPIRACY TO MAKE HOMOSEXUALS SUFFER BECAUSE OF THEIR MOTHERS-IN-LAW UNTIL DEATH!!! Sick

(Just in case: this comment is a joke, 'kay? I don't want any mother-in-law to start scolding me).

Another wacko Texas case to throw into the mix.  Although I kind of understand the reasoning for a morality clause (kind of but not really) it adds a new wrinkle for homosexual couples who live in states where they can't marry in order to get around the morality clause.  http://www.upi.com/blog/2013/05/22/Lesbian-couple-cant-cohabitate-Texas-judge-rules/2011369222315/?rel=5411369251833
