Tough call between Unexpect and Leprous from these, went with Unexpect, though White Willow's Terminal Twilight and Fen's Epoch are a step above both and easily the best two albums of 2011.

Man, many great albums here. 2011 was indeed a wonderful year for prog! My vote, as usual, is for A Tower Of Silence. #2, not listed here, has to be Tangled Thoughts Of Leaving - Deaden The Fields. ACR: Do you know this one? Another Aussie band.

Some great albums to choose from here.
It takes something special to beat Grace For Drowning but imo there's one that does. I'm going for the superb Amplifier double album The Octopus. I know they're not particularly well liked on here but this really hits the spot for me. If you like your space rock heavy, classy and with an indie/alt rock twist you can't go wrong with this. It's one of my favourite albums of the new millenium so far and gets my vote.
Incidentally Amplifier's new one Echo Street (just released about 3 weeks ago) is pretty special too.

Missed this the first time around it seems!
Weighing in with one of my favorite all time albums: To Shatter All Accord. Better with every listen. Rogue is easily one of the finest epics I've ever heard. Still pleasantly baffled every time I remember it wasn't recorded at a time when every prog giant and their brother's band was sticking one on an album.

I'd probably prefer A Scarcity Of Miracles to all of these, but Haken and Dream Theater's 2011 albums were amazing.

I assume I voted GFD first time round. I'm not sure I would agree it was such a great year. I like the debut by AltaVia - Girt Dog and also the excellent Glass Hammer - Cor Cordium but otherwise the year largely passed me by. I did also later pick up Amplifier - The Octopus which is very good but not sure I can get that excited about it.

Discipline, To Shatter All Accord.

When he rides, my fears subside. For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night.
