YES

Its back after a years hiatus - the poll to end all polls (0r just a way to spend a weekend for a bored proghead Big smile)

Choose the best 2011 album....

Top 24 - Here is the prog poll for definitive albums of 2010. If I missed any that you believe are essential, place them in other section.

The year 2011 was an incredible pear for prog with some of the greatest releases for years. New bands offered their own brand of brilliance, and heavy metal flourished. The awesome list shows a diversity of styles from many lands, showing how prog has developed as a number one musical genre throughout the world.

There are some fantastic albums on this list - but Grace for Drowning wins for me. Can't describe how much I love that album.

This is almost too hard to call.
Phideaux gets my vote by a whisker, but there are so many fantastic albums on this list.

Beardfish takes this one for me, maybe Haken in second. I didn't think 2011 was that great to be honest, 2012 was much better.

I was looking for Karmakanic and Mars Hollow, maybe even Yes' album from 2011... but from this list (and maybe in retrospect, having lived with these records for the past couple of years), I choose Grace for Drowning.

2011 was a brilliant year for modern prog. I picked Grace for Drowning, but here's a brief list of my other favorites..

1. Grace for Drowning
2. Snowtorch
3. Visions
4. A Dramatic Turn of Events
5. Heritage
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

A weak year in my opinion, nothing blew my mind.

I went with The Tangent this time.
Crushed like a rose in the riverflow.

My actual number 1 is an album by a not very well known Australian band called Chaos Divine, but Haken are a close second, so I'll give them a vote here.

I love nearly all of these, but Grace for Drowning is one of my favorite albums of all time. Listened to it today, in fact. My choice is easy.
