Both are in PA under Crossover Prog. Bjork's Debut album (which wasn't actually her debut, but never mind) came out in '93,while Tori Amos's Little Earthquakes came out in '92 (it also wasn't her debut...). Their ages are separated by only 3 years. It seems to me that Bjork and her music is very much Western European, while only the USA could have produced Tori Amos and her music.

For me, it's not even close: Bjork. (My wife would definitely go with Tori though. In fact, I'm not allowed to play Bjork if she's within earshot LOL )

Tori Amos by a mile for me. I just find her a lot more listenable. She's an incredible piano player.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Tori Amos has been based in the UK for most of her career, and I've always found her music to be very British sounding, not American.

Love em both, but if I could only have the albums of one, I'd take Tori.

I'm pretty sure this has been done before but I voted anyway.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Bjork. Tori's got a couple of seriously good albums, but Bjork at her best is just far more interesting.

Ha! That sums up my domestic situation, too!

Bjork is just too eccentric for my better half: vocally, musically, and sartorially (remember her swan outfit out the Oscars?). All of which make her more attractive to this Proghead, but I too have to listen on headphones at home...

Wow this is a really hard choice. I love them both. I think I'll go with Tori. From the Choirgirl Hotel is just an amazing album.

Bjork sounds tone deaf to me.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
