I can't believe I've never signed on til now. I've been reading Prog Archives for many years but I've never participated. So here goes...

I'm Greg Mathieson, prog fan since 1974 when I first heard the Aqualung album. I was 14. There was something about it that was different from everything else I was aware of from top 40 radio and I was determined  to figure out what it was and where else it existed. I sensed the same quality in Roundabout, which I also heard on the radio. So I hit the record shops and started reading Creem and Circus and Trouser Press magazines. Then I stumbled onto Beaker Street radio program and figured out that there was a radio band besides AM called FM, and if you twiddled the knob enough you could find stuff that wasn't opera or organ music. Then I heard Dark Side of the Moon and In the Court of the Crimson King, and there you go!

Welcome. Here's an oddity from the deeper vaults that might be of interest.

Welcome to Prog paradise - I used to love Creem mags and grew up in the 70s too!

Very nice! Something I've never heard of. The beginning immediately reminded me of UFO's Love to Love, something I just got done commenting on elsewhere, and Hey You, something I wouldn't mind if I never heard again but a great song regardless.

Omigosh - and there's Have a Cigar, almost note for note! Is this intentional?

I don't think this is some kind of test... But the Floydian influence cannot be denied.

Also, welcome to the site :)

No test, just an oddity from the deeper vaults *laughs*

Here's another oddity:

Ah yeah, know about that one. April Wine is one of those rather overlooked bands from way back when. Remember encountering them on some obscure metal compilations in the early 80's.

I could have added the video where Marillion does a cover of a Britney Spears tune now, but that might just be a bit too cruel ;-)

Richard Thompson covered a Britney Spears song when I saw him live ("Oops I Did it Again").
