I think we should have one RIP thread for musicians. Sometimes we create one for some artist who died and only one or two people visit it. Let's have one place where we pay respects to musicians whose lives might have affected only some of us.

For me, today one ofthe greatest living conductors passed away. RIP Sir Colin Davis. Much of your music making has made me much richer.

RIP
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Well I created the Chi Cheng thread already, but damn. RIP Chi. I really thought he was gonna make it, then this happened. Very unfortunate.

I created a similar thread to this called Gone But Not Forgotten, but was mainly for prog musicians.

I am so sorry to hear of Sir Colin Davis's passing, I admired him.

As some may know, my favorite musician, Helmut Koellen, died over 35 years ago, on May 3rd, 1977. I think of him everyday with fondness!

I'd like to pay tribute to someone else who recently passed--Peter Banks, formerly of my favorite groups, Yes.

I also did a similar thread a few years ago

Just goes to show these threads are a good idea but they don't last.

Richie Havens played first at the Woodstock Festival, because nobody else was ready.  When nobody else continued to not be ready, he had to keep playing until somebody else was ready to play.

No, I think all musicians are worthy of of a thread of their own.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
