Steve Howe's youngest son Virgil Howe died unexpectedly yesterday/today. Cause undisclosed. Virgil played drums with his dad in the Steve Howe Trio as well as had his own band called Little Barrie, who were scheduled to go on tour of England starting tomorrow. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/4445028/virgil-howe-dead-at-42-little-barrie-drummer-and-son-of-yes-star-dies-suddenly/

This guy was a hell of a drummer, singer and songwriter. Listening to that swing in his otherwise punkish drumwork during "Books About UFOs" while singing is a testament to his greatness. Serious loss to the rock world, whether people realize it or not. Edit: Got captcha'd. I'm really starting to hate this place...

So sorry to hear about Holger Czukay. Memory Eternal. I love his music. There are very few composers/musicians at his level.

Wow...saw Husker Du back in '84 at the Keystone in Palo Alto. They were headlining a West coast tour of SST bands (The Minutemen, The Meat Puppets, Saccharine Trust, SWA)...amazing show. Anyway, the 2 LP 1984 Husker Du album, "Zen Arcade" is my fave...very progressive-hardcore-punk in many ways. RIP Grant |

Tom Petty died today..
He was described somewhere as 'Likeable, hardworking and unpretentious' which was exactly how he struck me. Ive got a soft spot for full moon fever and will play it in his memory. RIP Tom
