Since they're my favorite band and don't seem to get a whole lot of attention here, I thought I'd start this thread. What are your Top 10 favorite songs by Procol Harum?

Here are mine, but not in order:

1-A Whiter Shade Of Pale
2-Whaling Stories
3-Quite Rightly So
4-In Held 'Twas In I
5-Shine On Brightly
6-Simple Sister
7-Conquistador
8-Repent Walpurgis
9-A Salty Dog
10-As Strong As Samson

I welcome your responses.

x)  In Held Twas in I
x)  Still There'll Be More
x)  A Whiter Shade of Pale
x)  Eight Days a Week (Beatles cover)
x)  Seem to Have the Blues all the Time
x)  TV Caesar
x)  Shine on Brightly
x)  Rambling On
x)  Too Much Between Us
x)  The Dead Man's Dream
I'm using the chicken to measure it.

I don't mind your list but can't see how you could leave out Homburg.

It was difficult to just list 10. Homburg would be number 11, I suppose. It's a great song!

I think they only managed about three quality songs - Whiter Shade; Homburg; Salty Dog, they were goodies though.

Best Procol track is Kaleidoscope.

Pilgrim's Progress is like much of the early work of Jack Bruce - quite unique in composition. You won't find much to compare to it.

In Held 'Twas In I
Shine On Brightly
Skip Softly My Moonbams
Conquistador
Repent Walpurgis
A Salty Dog
Too Much Between Us
A Christmas Camel

The only album I have is the Live With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra but its massive. Love everything on it although I've always had a soft spot for A Salty Dog which of course inspired that album
