I love all these albums, but the songs "Vital Signs," "The Camera Eye" and "Limelight" (with one of my favorite guitar solos ever) are the reasons I go for Moving Pictures over Hemispheres' Side 1 and the superb Permanent Waves. Alex's best guitar tone ever, too (followed up by Geddy's best-ever bass tone on Signals).

It is difficult, but I revert to Moving Pictures as my favourite Rush album. A perfect blend of hard rock, progressive rock, and power pop/rock. Genius.

Hemispheres is one of those albums that gets far too much praise for my liking. La Villa Strangiato and The Trees are superb but the rest I don't care for.

The excellent Permanent Waves seems like a rehearsal for the all time classic and unique Moving Pictures. One of the last truly great moments in prog history. I really like Farewell To Kings as well which is Rush's second best album imo.

Their best period!  I vote for my first Rush album, Hemispheres, which is still one of my favorites.

Permanent Waves is probably my favourite Rush album, so that. That whole early 80's era was just prime. Some of greatest tunes laided on track.

I own only the first two so I won't vote, but out of them I prefer Hemispheres
