Topic: Motorpsycho vs motW /Kayo Dot Posted: April 23 2013 at 08:12 |
two (or three) of the most loved bands projects, i put both projects of Toby Driver, vs Bernt Sæther aginst the ever evolving and musculuar unit Bent Sæter and Hans Magnus «Snah» Ryan, both have elements of both 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, metal, rock, prog, jazz, classical, folk, avant-garde, while Psycho have their roots in alternative/stoner doom/psych, Tobyis probably more related to rock in oppesition. (i dunno much about such things so, wild guessing)

Enjoy both, but so far I enjoy what I've heard from Motorpsycho more than what I've heard from Toby's projects.

I only have 3 albums by motW (Bath, Leave Your Body Map and Part The Second) and 1 of Motorpsycho (The Death Defying Unicorn) so I'm not the most entitled to judge, but I like the Motorpsycho one much more than the motW ones (although Part The Second is good).

Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I've only listened to The Death Defying Unicorn from Motorpsycho, but I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of dissonance and walls of sound on the album. Maybe at some of the noisiest string parts it has some similarity to Kayo Dot.

Motorpsycho's good, but Toby has made some of my favourite albums.
