I defined "Classic Era" as the era in which the albums are consistently rated at 4 stars, though there may be an album/albums that are lower within the selection.

Voted `Rain Dances', though all of these are very decent albums. Even `The Single Factor' and `Stationary Traveller' have wonderful stuff on them, very melodic poppy albums with suberb standout playing from Latimer.

Even `I can See Your House From Here' is a great mix of pop and prog, as long as you skip (or destroy would be better!) `Remote Romance' and `Neon Magic' lol!

I love Harbour of Tears. It never fails to move me. Love a lot of the others too,  but HOT is miles ahead for me.

Haven't heard all of them, but I can't imagine the ones I haven't heard would beat Rajaz.

Breathless has "Starlight Ride," and I Can See Your House from Here has "Ice." Both these tracks rank with anything on Moonmadness and The Snow Goose, although otherwise I'm not fond of those albums. So... one of those. ;-)

I don't know all of these, and I can't vote yet - not enough posts - but of the three I own (Nude, Stationary Traveller and Harbour of Tears), I would choose Stationary Traveller.

Nude is "nice" but doesn't quite have a cutting edge for me - something Camel are a bit prone to, for example I'd say Snowgoose is also "nice" but doesn't have that outstanding edge.

Harbour of Tears is better, but Stationary Traveller creates a bit of a darker mood, and is the standout album for me from this period. I saw them on the Stationary Traveller tour and they were outstanding.

I recently gave Rain Dances a spin and was astonished just how good it is (I'd always disregarded it a bit as it wasn't as good as Moonmadness, but perhaps it was just different) - but Rajaz, Nude, Stationary Traveller and A Nod and a Wink are all superb too.
In the end, I'll go for Nude but any of those mentioned could get my vote.

Voted "Breathless", but actually the run from Rain Dances  through Nude is probably my favorite work by the band, overall.

Rain Dances isn't considered "classic era"? It's my favorite Camel album...I would otherwise have voted for Stationary Traveller.

Whereas I couldn't get into HoT beyond the opening song, and I think ST is probably the best thing they recorded after Rain Dances or Breathless up until Rajaz.
