Topic: Neal Morse Or The Rest? (Part III. - 2006/7) Posted: June 04 2013 at 11:44 |
I'm not a fan of Neal Morse & Co., but he's quite popular on this site and perfectly fits to my poll idea, ie comparing of former frontman with his mother band.

This one is a bit more difficult.. since there is no "both" option, I'll still choose Sola as it is an epic album in it's all heavy&beautiful greatness SB is a very good one too.

SB this time as the band has hit it's stride. Morse is beginning to sound the same by this time. I love the Slow Crash Landing Man from SB!

I'm surprising myself. Up to now I've always voted for Neil

I felt this is the first album the Beard really found their voice without Neal. "With Your Kiss" slays me.

A stunning track, that one. I wonder why they have never played it live? (As far as I'm aware of, anyway)

I'd have to vote for `Sola', even if just for how darn good `The Door' is - man, that final vocal section is so dramatic and uplifting, brings me to tears. But the self-titled Spock's album was one of the most consistent of the Nick-led albums. If it wasn't for those two dreadful clunkers right in the middle - `Sometimes They Stay, Sometimes They Go' and `The Slow Crash Landing Man' - that album would be more or less all good! Still a damn fine effort, I really would have liked a `Both' button here!

Probably my least favorite Neal Morse album besides Lifeline, and my least favorite NDV era Spock's album, but I still have to go with Spock's Beard here.
