From the band FaceBook page

A Message From Mike Portnoy:

It saddens me to announce that the 4 upcoming shows in Latin America this month supporting Halestorm will be my last with Adrenaline Mob.Unfortunately, I have scheduling conflicts that prevent me from being able to fully commit to the band's future activities at the moment. As I cannot be in two places at the same time, I don't want to hold them back and have to wait for my schedule to re-open up to resume activity.I'm very proud of what we started together and the music we made over the past two years and I wish the guys all the best in the future.

It's a bit odd that he left a group that he basically created.

Hang on, that idea seems familiar...Wink

Good. Now he can focus on Flying Colors, who are infinitely better. Adrenaline Mob sound so generic.

Doesn't he have another trio he's working with?  I saw some videos.  It's more rock pop.  He really just needs to get something full time going where he can grow a dedicated band.  Maybe some fusion thing like Planet X.  obviously, he's freeing things up for Transatlantic!

Portnoy is a stupid kid. He joins 3024802348209 bands. Then he leaves complaining that he doesn't have time. Of course he doesn't, so why does he join so many bands? He doesn't give a sh*t about the other members. What an irresponsible guy. And yet he has many fans who kiss their ass.

I like Portnoy, but people like him are the reason many cliques exist. A few that come to mind,

"He writes checks with his mouth that his ass can't cash."

"He has good intentions, but the road to hell is paved with the bricks of good intentions."   Enough said.

So when is someone going to question why this is "prog news"? (prog-related maybe...)

I won't comment on his supposed intelligence, but he's pretty far from a kid.

That's an arrogant one right there.

By the manner of his rhetoric it doesn't sound like he's complaining. Maybe his interests change very often.

How do you figure?

Save the negatively critical talk for people who
actually cause you problems.

AM was/is very bad...the new Winery Dogs is very generic pop/rock, at least from the YT clip. If he is gonna float around different bands he needs to focus on stuff like LTE, Transatlantic and Neal Morse...he is getting long in the tooth and needs to settle down.
Generic pop/rock crowd will not care who he is, nor give him anything he feels he is looking for....Its a one-hit wonder genre. The "Slayer" crowd don't care for MP much.....

I don't know why he didn't take that band with Derek Sherinian, Tony McAlpine, and Billy Sheean further. Seemed like they could have recorded a really cool jazz- fusion album.
