The new Yes lineup is scorching hot. Jon Davidson is truly the real deal. Pick up the album that landed him the job from Glass Hammer ~ If. It's truly a prog masterpiece. Right up there with Tales From Topographic Oceans.

Wish I could attend, but alas, I'm poor and can't afford to jet-set around to different states for these amazing once in a life-time shows currently.

I drank what?

Nearfest is done I'm afraid. There are other festivals though like Progday, Rosfest, Calprog etc.

Check this out folks. A mini prog festival hosted by YES. This will feature Renaissance, Carl Palmer's ELP legacy, The Musical Box(PG era Genesis tribute band) and a few other special guests including Roger Dean. Oh yeah, YES will be there too. Wink

Yes gig? Don't you think this thread would get a lot more attention if it was posted as what it actually is which is a YES FESTIVAL. This was mentioned on Yesworld as well as a whole bunch of other places.

YES doing CTTE and TYA and more plus:

The Musical Box (Genesis tribute)

Renaissance

Carl Palmer's ELP legacy

Special appearance by Roger Dean

and a few other bands including Scale the Summit and the school of Rock

I'd like to fly in for this, but the cheapest plane ticket I've found so far is $459 into the Allentown (insert Billy Joel-joke-of-your-choice here, or feel free to hum/sing the song) airport. Nothing left in the prog travel budget ... Cry.

If only Yes could have done EVERY show with this group of bands! ...

I don't have any time for Billy Joel, but 'Allentown' is the only song of his I truly like.....Wink

http://thekey.xpn.org/2013/05/20/get-your-prog-rock-on-yes-festival-to-make-only-u-s-appearance-at-susquehanna-bank-center-on-83/

Progrockers Yes- Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White, Geoff Downes & Jon Davison – bring their 2013 festival to the Susquehanna Bank Center on August 3rd.

The progressive rock legends will play Yes favorites and two classic Yes albums in their entirety including Close to the Edge  and The Yes Album

Also on the bill: the greatest Genesis tribute band ever – The Musical Box, (performing the classic Genesis album, Foxtrot), Carl Palmer’s Band and Rennaissance with Annie Haslam. There will also be a rare appearance by Roger Dean, the Yes album cover artist presenting “The Art of Roger Dean.” Tickets go on sale Friday, May 24th at 10AM.  More information will be available here

======

I'd much rather see Musical Box again than this version of Yes!!  At least the keyboardist in MB can play Tony Banks' music note-for-note, vs. Geoff Downes' awful Yes keyboard messiness!  Ouch

Renaissance with Annie Haslam would be a real treat as well!
