Another one is the Lighthouse one, but must admit that I haven't seen the edition of it posted in here. I know it as a greenish art work - and again I do prefer a little colourEmbarrassed

I find the use of light in 'Green Tower' (posted before) amazing.
It's common to find different colour or light versions of the same RD's paint, I don't know why that is, another example with CTTE

My guess is that he painted these things a couple of times, before deciding which to use. I'm not sure really. Seems a bit strange that all these 'differences' in nuances and colours could stem from the pressing.

My friend has/had an LP copy of Topographic Oceans in a really dark shade - the midnight blue colour was almost black, it's the only one like that I've ever seen.

I find that highly improbable, I'm more inclined to think that he painted just one version and it got manipulated in different ways by different purposes by different people.

Gerinski, is there anywhere you know online that sells posters/reprints on progressive covers like these at affordable prices?

I'm currently trying to find a few poster sized works that I could display framed in a room, but don't know where to begin looking for them. Roger Dean works might be a fine start!

Thanks for any advice or suggestions!
I see that here you can get some of his drawings at decent resolution size

One of the paintings in the Yessongs foldout he had to touch up because his cat ran over the canvas and left paw prints. It was almost finished and he didn't want to abandon the work so he incorporated them. have to check it in Views.

Rockpommel"s Land wasn't Dean though. I guess you're just slipping that in for comparative puposes. he certainly had a lot of influence on other artists who wanted to draw something weird and surreal Here's my Roger Dean rip-off :

Thanks Gerinski for your advice! I saw the Roger Dean store too, I liked how you said the prices looked `mad', I think my reaction was more `WHAT THE F....'!

I bet they'd look glorious though....wish I had disposable cash.

You can indeed. He made them into clouds, I always thought that was great.

Yeah he made them into clouds. I couldn't quite remember what his solution was. I actually do the same thing with my crappy artwork. If I f**k something up beyond the point of no return but the idea is working I make it into something else. Sometimes it turns out better than I expected.

I like the low pass by the pterodactyl precision flying team. Are you sure all of these are Dean's?

Most of them I'm positive but I have a few which I am not sure, I was wrong with Olias and Rockpommels Land so there could be other mistakes.

Starbuck's Siren i don't think is one of Dean's. But the fish formation detail is cool. It's sort of a testament of his eye for detail. The fish are in perfect formation!
