Gong. Part 1 was over a year ago, so if there was a part 2 it was back then too.

Definitely Camembert. I remember looking at the back album cover and thinking, "these people are seriously bizarre"...the album inside only confirmed my suspicions

Two super-special albums to me !! I'm very nostalgic with these as my mates and I spent heaps of 'quality' time back in the day with these albums Totally on-par with each other. Where's the 'both' option ??

X in Search of Space is my pick. Definitely a winner.
|
I am currently digging: Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz! Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

Hawkwind is fine but I can't feel the masterpiece at their works. Gong is my fav.

Haven't heard the Hawkwind album, so no vote - even if I adore the electric cheese.
Funny, I am just about the biggest psych fan north of Belgium, and I've never really gotten into Hawkwind...Maybe one day.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Both crap IMO

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Gong, by a small margin. Both are about 3.5 stars IMO.

You know, most times if someone doesn't like something round these parts they usually say nothing or something a little more constructive. But not Dr Prog. No. Crap he says. I think you should return your doctorate to the internet university from whence it came. It was wasted money.

Gong I would say on the strength of this:
ALL sharny new bands try to do a Hawkwind, but very few go Gong.
Because Hawkwind is no challange (musically).
