I know it's predictable to go for the TD album, but it's the best so it's the right decision.

Another vote for Astra - though I've not heard all of these.

Best electronic (symphonic) album I've got is Michael Neil's Cornubia

Yes, I was going to say the same thing. Taking Tiger Mountain's a great art rock album, but not really 'progressive electronic' in the slightest.

The purpose of the poll is to offer 10 options from albums in PE. I chose 10 albums that were not the most obvious examples from the artists. The point was to list 10 albums that didn't have much in common.

I've only heard Force Majeure from that list and there are artists on there I'm not at all familiar with. Need to get with it,Smile

I must've missed this poll somehow...

A lot of fine albums here, but I can't not vote for my fave Heldon albumHeart Force Majeure is up there as well.

Hey Richard. I think you'll really appreciate the ZOMBIE: SPIRIT ANIMAL album.
It's got great spacey soundscapes and it's an album that will surely put you in the zone.
Give it a go when you can. Amazon has it for cheap right now. :)

TD........but I love Eno's Taking Tiger....which is more art rock/prog than electronic imho.

That's our top 10? Really? Not bad, but some surprising choices here, like Eno. That Throbbing Gristle album though, classsic. That's where my vote goes.

^Very nice electronic album indeedApprove

If you can imagine TD hooking up with Chris Squire and Neil Peart, then you're not entirely off.

I love Zombi (can you tell?), but as soon as I saw Force Majeure, I knew where my vote was going. It is a bona fide classic that I've spent many years with. It never gets old. Great piano and guitar (and real drums, even) in addition to the electronics. Everyone should own it.

Haven't heard anything but 'Ghosts On Magnetic Tape', which is not really Bas Communion's greatest work (Loss is much more interesting), so no vote.

What's the best somewhat-modern progressive electronic album?

^If you haven't heard the Zombi album on the list, it came out a couple of years ago. Fairly modern sounding but with some retro touches.
