Well, you definitely want to get on that! Season One take to the top. With the fourth season out now, perfect opportunity.

Hmmm!
Maybe just to be different I'm kind of leaning toward Maeby.
But they are all great, so its very hard to choose.
I've not seen the new "season", but I am curious to hear opinions.

Really? I don't think I've ever heard someone give Maeby so much love before! Hey, with all due respect, she's a great character, I just wouldn't think she's favourite material.

I still haven't seen the fourth yet either, so we're in the same boat. I saw the first episode, didn't like it all too much. Sort of lame to start off the series after 8 years.

She's not over the top like most of the rest.  Not that I don't appreciate OTT (you have to to love this show), but to me she's the calm in the midst of the chaos!

GOB, by far.

The new season met my expectations, which were very, very low. They did an idiotic thing where they made each episode about one character alone, which sounds sort of like a neat idea, until you realize that t eliminates all those great scenes with the whole family interacting, which was sort of the whole point of the show to begin with.

The first three seasons contain some of the best television ever made, however.

I watched the first season for the first time a few months a go. At first, I thought it was brilliant. But about 4 episodes in, I started to find it formulaic. I can see where "The Modern Family" takes its influence. Both are funny, but the best sitcoms ever? Not even in the top 25 of the last 25 years, in my opinion. Not that they need to be. It's enough to be enjoyable. I do at the moment think however that it's way over-rated.

When I started watching the British sitcom "League of Gentlemen" recently, I very quickly lost all interest in Arrested Development.

Having said all that, my favorite character is probably Gob or Tobias, the discredited 'analrapist' (analyst/therapist)-turned-wannabe actor who is clearly gay - even his wife is always suggesting it - but he's the only one who fails to realize it.

Haha, that clip is so funny. I'll probably start watching the 2nd season of Arrested Development soon. I don't know how I missed that one the first time around, as well as The Larry Sanders Show, which is great! :-)

LOL That song is so dirty! Cool

Yeah, and like you said, it's nice to have characters like that. The one's you can just treat normally. Her along with her uncle, probably the only two people in the house that have some degree of common sense! And that whole relationship between herself and George Michael! LOL Classic.

It was a toss up between George Michael and Gob (I always thought it was spelled "Jobe"LOL.) Anyways, I went with George Michael, such a great character, love Michael Cera's awkwardness... perfect!

"It ain't easy bein' white" is a very solid argument for Gob as the best character.

and btw....no love for Oscar? And Liza doing her own stunts is something pretty special.

Close between GOB and Tobias but I went with Tobias.  David Cross is superhumanly funny as that character.

Okay, forget what I wrote above: I've seen all 3 seasons, and I have to say it's absolutely brilliant, definitely one of my favorite sitcoms ever. Today I watched the first episode of the new 4th season - I didn't expect much, since the reviews were rather lukewarm. However, I found it great, without any drop in quality at all. Great show, recommended highly!! :-)

Also, the more I watched, the more it became clear that Gob is probably my favorite character. Clap

Same here, though the presence of David Cross in the show made me look forward to seeing at least one episode of it.
