Just saw this online today:


I saw Gary with Glen Cornick's "Wild Turkey" band, opening for Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" show in Chicago.  

I quite liked his vocals, although I personally didn't think they meshed well with Wakeman's music in "Center" and "King Arthur."

Thanks Chuck for posting.   RIP Gary.  Cancer sucks, trust me, I know...

For me I absolutely loved Gary's clear & delicate voice, it was the perfect counter-weight for Ashley's Holt, gruff voice.
Both vocalists made Journey & Arthur the works of art that they were.  I always thought No Earthly Connection
should have had Gary on it as well.

A great vocalist....Battle Hymn by Wild Turkey is in my top 10 albums of all time.

Has anyone suggested Wild Turkey for PA? Surely Battle Hymn is prog? No?

Anyway, Gary Pickford-Hopkins you have left me with some great memories. Poor little Butterfly.
