Lots of amazing jazz drummers, who is behind Billy?
I chose the incredible Tony Williams, wow!

2. Curt Cress with Passport
3. Lenny White in his RTF days in the 70s.
4. Tony Williams

Chuck Burgi (who played on Brand X "Masques") is excellent!

Bill Bruford should be named as well.

Pierre Moerlen was probably my favorite jazz-rock prog drummer.  RIP!

Stuart Copeland. Although he is not in a full on, jazz oriented band, but his style of drumming is brought forth from jazz traditions, especially his grip use on the sticks! Anyway, Mr. Copeland's rhythmic style of drumming is some of the very best groove rock/jazz offerings I've ever heard, especially his work with the police.

Stu gets the vote!
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Lenny White. Saw him with Return to Forever. Excellent.

Please read the Poll Question, thank you= The subject title states BESIDES COBHAM, so is Roach ,who is a jazz drummer and not a jazz-rock drummer, still your top choice ?

Tony Williams is a killer drummer and my pick.
How about Furio Chirico from ATRE E MISTIERI. Not bad eh ?
Jack DeJohnette is another one who really impresses me.
Daniel Jeand'Heur from ONE SHOT is another.
It's impossible to make a comprehensive list Thomas, some great choices in the poll.

I know, half way through, I realized i needed like 30 other choices, so I gave up and added "other! "
All of these guys are superlative , but I have been on a Steve Smith/Tony Williams binge lately , waiting for Calgary to dry out! Confused

I'd assume yes, because his drumming is undeniably jazzy, and Magma is sometimes jazzy, and Offering is jazzy, and some of his other projects have been jazz/jazzy.
