See here:

I thought they already had "scraped the bottom of the barrel"...as it were. Apparently not.

Hmmm...

That is rather too focused on the latter years for my tastes.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Those who like Gentle Giant's later material will probably have at least 50% or more of the material included on other releases.

Are demos, rehearsals, instrumentals, etc  justification for buying this?

Hopefully the price will be right because those who do not like GG's later stuff, probably won't buy it either

Been up on Amazon for a few weeks. The price seems reasonable.

I don't think I would have purchase at 60$ but at 25$, I ordered without hesitation.
Have you seen them Khajiits?

OMG, I saw that one and it has a live set from their final tour, which I saw and used to have on cassette as it was broadcast on local radio and when I was at the show I had a high school friend tape it.  Unfortunately the tape ran out before the end of the set and I think it was Inside Out that had a gap due to turning the cassette over while recording.  But for the price tag I'd rather just have a single disc of that set.

Richard, you probably should have read the review in Classic Rock before shelling out for this.

"live bootlegs so badly recorded that if you'd bought them as a bootleg on a Woolworths C90 from a bloke at a record fair in 1981 you'd be asking for your 1 back".

and apparently 17 minutes of Kerry Minnear trying to perfect a piano riff!

So far I bought nearly everything released officially by GG, but this one is IMO not for hardcore fans. Just by looking through tthe tracklist I recognized most of the sources. The '78 BBC Sight and sound concert was already released on Out Of The fire (HUX). the Pinewwod rehearsal tapes were released on the MP3 section of Scrapping the barrel, then there are exerpts of at least four of the bad quality "official" bootlegs alreday released and without a detailed check I am rather sure that a greater part of the demos come also from Srapping the barrel or Under Construction. Ouch

I had to think about what 'C90' was for a moment. I remember those pesky C120's would get snagged in the cassette deck pretty quick. Those were the days ehLOL

Thank you for the info, as some one who likes latter GG because it contains some of the finest songwriting ever without totally selling out as it still has prog elements, I have the good sounding bootlegs in the Missing Face and the Last Steps along with the BBC concert mentioned.

Too me, even at $25 = Shipping, that is a lot to pay for reheasals, demos and instrumentals

Indeed. I never used C120s myself for that very reason.

Me too, but for one occasion there were perfect. I actually taped a lot of concerts with C120's. You had to turn the tape just once and for most concerts it worked and you didn't had to watch your taperecorder all the time or get too much attention in case they were keeping an eye open for bootleggers.

Actually not ONE unreleased track, (the source tracks in colour) It would have been decent to write on the cover material realeased before : or
we're only in it for the money

Hmmm ^^^ obviously the packaging betrays the content. I would prefer just remasters of original album material rather than a bunch of demos and live cuts of inferior quality
