A big surprise for me that this project by ex-Anathema bass player/keyboardist Duncan Patterson is not on the archives yet.
Alternative 4 released only one studio album 'The Brink' in 2011, and it blends many styles, mainly ambient, dark ambient and alternatie rock into a very atmospheric sound akin to Anathema and Antimatter, but much slower, using many unusual for rock music instuments, such as mandolin, cello, violin and a full-blown vocal choir. Recommended for fans of Anathema, Antimatter, Íon, as well as for fans of atmospheric ambient music. Edited by ole-the-first - July 20 2013 at 00:23 |

Added to Progfreak two years ago as ''Atmospheric Prog-Related Metal'' but apparently never suggested here. Not sure if I would describe it as prog rock myself, art rock yes, but I'll ask the Crossover Team for their opinion.
