Mmmm.

I'll go with Frogg Café. A fantastic album that should have a wider appreciation.

Okay your scaring me now Ian.  That Zaar album is fantastic with the deranged hurdy-gurdy, and the drumming is outstanding...but I have to agree with you and Infocat and Wanorak about PFM's recording. It's just so beautiful I can't help but pick it.

I agree Phil. Everytime I play that one or Fortunate Observer Of Time I feel so lucky to own such amazing music. I would place Bateless Edge above them but there's something about the mood or feel of those two earlier records that make me feel good.

By the way that Abercrombie record is one I haven't reviewed yet but it's a solid 4 stars. Love the first and last tracks. A trio with Abercrombie on guitar, Jan Hammer on keyboards and Jack DeJohnette on drums. Great stuff !

Hey guys you can vote in the first round even if you don't know them all.
I've set the first round up so there's one album that's rated much higher than the rest or at least more popular. Sure I could just skip to round two but I was hoping for people's opinions on these records more than anything. Now round two I would prefer people know the albums but that's a long way off.
Anyway it's up to you guys.
Thanks !

I wasn't impressed with what I've heard from Frog Cafe and I do really like that Zaar album, but Per Un Amico is a classic!

I only know the PFM oneEmbarrassed
I will however say that Per Un Amico has grown on me over the years. I used to think it was too polished and clean - at least compared to that live-in-the-studio-feel of the debut, but the last couple of times I've put it on, I've enjoyed it from start to finish.
The last two cuts are impossibly pretty, that is without ever coming off saccharine.

I think that's the key for me David when you talk about it being pretty (I might say beautiful) but not coming off as saccharine which for me would be a turn off. This is a classic album that sounds gorgeous.
