Definitely Nucleus.
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

Big smile Thanks for noticing my spelling Pierre. Hey i'm listening to that one right now and it's pure RPI no ? Fantastic vocals and the band was started by two guys from RRR (don't make me spell it).LOL We get flute, sax and some beautiful piano as well.

Only know the first and the third, and I feel a relisten is in order for this one.

Coincidently Agora are from Italy as well. Some killer Jazz/Rock right here. Some great picks this round.

Karl Jenkins and John Marshall who would go on to play with Soft Machine are incredible here. Spedding on guitar plus two sax players, flute, aboe and Clyne on bass. Ian Carr is a genius in my opinion. Song For The Bearded Lady would show up on a Soft Machine album later on as it was Jenkins composition. Easter 1916 is such a melancholic track. A 5 star album for me.

I'm sure those Norwegians(Shining) will compete for the lead here. Great album if you like your Avant on the heavier side. Enjoy your listening time Phil. I worked like a dog today ripping out a bathroom. Well all the ceramic tile for about 4 hours. Impressed the boss anyways, he gave me an extra 20 bucks and bought me supper so it was worth it. Not sure why i'm saying this except for maybe i'm buzzing on a large double double coffeee from Timmy's right now. Big smile

It's one of the three albums that got me into jazz fusion alongside Keith Tippett's You Are Here... I Am There and Miles Davis' Bitches Brew, so it always has a special place in my mind.

I expect Nucleus to take it.

And that sounds like an intense day. I would probably need all that coffee after doing all that work too. haha

After listening, I'm going to go with Grindstone, for a) it really tickles my seedlings and b) it's getting it's ass handed to it.

Grindstone is one of the craziest albums.  It's completely everywhere, IMO way more wild than Blackjazz even.  Gets my vote easily.

I definetly prefer Grindstone to Blackjazz, but yeah wild and crazy are good descriptions.

My favourite from them but I really like most of their albums. The other one I would rate as high is the live Bremen one.

It's hard for me to vote since I was never a fan of neither of those albums, but if I had to choose one album to listen to again it would be the Samadhi album.
