Isn't The Necromancer just one big long guitar solo? Wink

Agreed on The Fountain of Lamneth; surprised to see Subdivisions in your list but he does have a very tasteful solo in there.

Eh...top 20:

2. 2112 - Soliloquy
3. Red Sector A
4. Ghost of a Chance (especially live version from Retrospective III)
5. The Fountain of Lamenth - No One at the Bridge
6. The Pass
7. Leave That Thing Alone
8. Natural Science (Different Stages version)
9. The Trees
10. Earthshine
11. 2112 - Discovery
12. YYZ
13. The Analog Kid
14. Limelight
15. Fly By Night

Either Freewill or La Villa Strangiato would be top of my list if I could come up with one. Great performer Alex. I've only seen Rush once but he stood out a mile for me.

Oooooh yes! So awesome! You just want it to keep going but... yeah
Strangiato is ranked in my top guitar solos of all time.
And I love the weird solo in Turn the Page. So strange but so... right. Turns out, a lot of his 80's solo's rocked, but in a completely different way than the 70's ones.

I thought there were several solos on Villa. In may be wrong though my memory is poor. I presume we mean  the quiet section that build up?

There are three: the intro classical guitar solo, the long build-up few couple minutes into the song, and then the weird one a bit afterwards, during the section when the tone switches to being more playful/Klezmer like.

The Exit Stage Left version of that intro solo on electric guitar, by the way, is incredible and probably should have been included on my list.

What do I mean? I think Anthem has an awesome solo, perhaps a bit better than some songs on my list.

Aah I see haha.

Anthem best part is the solo section, give or take a couple of seconds :3
