C'mon how many Close To The Edges do we need? They're just milking it for their retirement fund. I think I have 4 or 5 vinyl copies that I bought when I was a young and stupid completist. I mean what is Sid Smith going to say about the record that we don't already know?

I only have my 2nd LP, and the first CD release.
I would love a better mix.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Hi all,

Panegyric Records is the company behind the release. They've been responsible for all of the excellent King Crimson 40th Anniversary reissues.

The label's official store is here:
https://www.burningshed.com/store/panegyric/

Please note that this version of CTTE won't be available in the US or Canada as the label's license doesn't extend to selling in North America. However, the Panegyric store ships worldwide and the blu-ray and dvda discs are Region 0 NTSC, so will play everywhere.

Best,

I've been really impressed with the SW Crimso mixes I've heard, so I guess this is worth a listen as well, even though I don't hear anything wrong with the latest cd issue. Nice news.

But it's not the way it was meant to be heard. Over produced, over processed. What's wrong with an original Atlantic Records vinyl edition complete with scratches and ticks and skips. It's that that gave these old records so much personality. I dunno. You digital age guys are missing so much.

Nawwww.  I came from the LP age.  Pristine sound is where it's at.

Even the original tapes probably don't even sound as "good"  as this.

Do you think Yes would have intentionally recorded their music with cracks and pops, if offered the option to do otherwise? Didn't think so. The whole "the way it was meant to be heard" debate is meaningless. Listen to what you like and move on.

Yeah, I'd love a vinyl version of CTTE that jumps all over the place and has crackles through the quite bits. Confused

I love listening to a lot of music on vinyl as well. It's not "better" or "worse" than pristine sound, it's just a different way to listen to, or experience, the music.

Oh no SW what are you doing with my moneyCry. I just completed my Yes remastered collection and thought it would be really nice to have them just like my KC and Genesis albums, you know 5.1 with extras and nice artwork and such. Now i dont know what to think... Oh well i'll probably buy it. Is this a limited edition?
I look up, I'm almost blinded

by the warmth of what's inside me

and the taste that's in my soul,

but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

I have a first-edition CTTE CD that I love!  It does have the tape-hiss that the studio tapes had, and as a guy who's worked in both analog and digital studios, I quite love it!

How could anyone re-master Eddie Offord??  He was the sixth man in Yes during that recording!!

I like the Rhino remasters the best, at least from what I've heard.

You guys are all perfectionists. The music was by no means perfect. What are you going to do whenyour wife reaches the age of 40? Oh I'll just remaster her. No. I'll make her better than she was when she was 20. C'mon these remasters are wearing thin. Move on listen to something else or something you haven't discovered. It's as if this album is the center of all creation. I dunno.

Having done the LP the first CD release and finally getting a remaster already, I think I'm done.  SW surround mix is tempting though.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
