From the Progrockmag.com website: http://www.progrockmag.com/news/steve-hackett-live-dvd-coming-soon/

Steve Hackett will release a live DVD-CD box set of his recent Genesis Revisited II show in London on October 21.

His concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in May is to be launched in time to tie in with his upcoming UK tour dates, added due to popular demand.

The show included guest appearances by Nik Kershaw, Steve Rothery, John Wetton, Jakko Jakszyk and Amanda Lehmann.

Hackett says: “Genesis Revisited: Live At Hammersmith is a feast for all the senses. I was blown away by the fantastic response to those May gigs.

“The autumn Genesis Revisited shows will include different material to the previous shows, along with the big favourites that bring the house down – see you all soon!”

Genesis Revisited: Live At Hammersmith tracklist

As my daughter would say, "w00t!".

Looking forward to seeing him onstage at the Keswick on 12 October in the interim.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

Yeah, I kind of expected this, and I guess I'll be wanting it. Great to hear some of the Classic era Genesis songs without Peter Gabriel. However, I'm still hoping he will come to Mexico as part of this tour (though I'm slowly losing hope). Well, he did come for the Baja Prog festival, but that's too far away (might just as well have gone to US).

Thanks--good to know--I saw some YouTube video and it got me worried---maybe it was the visual of him or something.

I'm going to be ridiculous and pass.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

The 5-disc package was actually released yesterday - here's a sample from the DVD of the show itself (track 6):

Went to see him in Bristol last night. Very good. Like the others say Nad Sylvan does a very good job on both Gabriel's and Collin's vocals. But, Hackett was superb. Never seen him before I would like to see him do his solo stuff.

Nad Sylvan didn't work for me or my guest--his voice wasn't strong when it should be and he forgot some of the lyrics--and he is a disturbing looking personLOL At my show Hackett brought out a guest singer on Moonlite Knight and another song and he was amazing---he's on the album forgot his name--he would have been a great singer for Hackett on the tour or on his solo albums. But the maestro Hackett and his band sounded amazing.

This is a bit old now (1979), and don't worry about the crap, cheesy intro to it...This is pure class symphonic prog from an era when it had almost died out completely due to the punk uprising that was in full swing at that time:

1. PLEASE DON'T TOUCH
2. RACING IN A
3. ACE OF WANDS
4. NARNIA
5. KIM (ACOUSTIC SECTION)
6. SHADOW OF THE HIEROPHANT
7. CLOCKS - THE ANGEL OF MONS

Edit: This TV performance was later released as part of the DVD 'Spectral Mornings', but was originally recorded at Radio Bremen’s studios on November 8th, 1978 for one of their “Musikladen Extra” shows, which makes it Steve Hackett’s fifth solo concert ever. It was first broadcast on May 24, 1979, and therefore it is the oldest live film material of Genesis & Co. to be officially released.  The sound goes a bit wonky for a moment in 'Clocks - The Angel Of Mons' towards the end of the clip, but it is only a brief hiccup. A separate clip of the 14-minute closing medley without this minor sound aberration can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAbjtcSwFf8.  Smile
