Best new PA prog album
Sigur Ros

Wilson was a nice release but i got fed up too fast, was a bit too much "Havent I heard that before"
Riverside is a fine album, but not their best.

Not on PA, in no particular order:
Unknown Mortal Orchestra II
Foxygen : We are ........
ASG : Blood Drive
and a big Thumbs Up to the veterans from Sabbath, not bad, not bad.

Prog is whatevey you want it to be. So dont diss other peoples prog, and they wont diss yours

Argh snap! I forgot to mention Klaus Schulze's latest offering ShadowlandsOuch One of the best releases he's done since Audentity from 1983. Okay the second disc hasn't fully clicked with me, but the first one is downright gorgeous and bewitching.

I didn't mention it in my initial list but I do like the Riverside album. That might be my favourite for the year so far.

So far:-

1.  Steven Wilson - The Raven
2.  Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest
3.  Amplifier - Echo Street

I think the new Sabbath is pretty good too, just like they were back in the early-mid 70s.

So I listened to Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace - Amok release, and was quite surprised to hear just how much it sounds like the new Jon Hopkins' album ImmunityShocked WTF?!?! May just be the best thing I've heard from him outside of The Pyramid Song. Never been a fan of Radiohead, but this solo project sounds really scrumptious to me.

I like Atoms For Peace a lot, but it sounds like a Radiohead album to me.

I may have to listen to some more Radiohead thenLOL I don't think I've ever heard em like this...

BTW Have you checked out Ukandanz yet? One of my fave releases this year that combines a funky RIOesque form of avantguarde music with Ethiopian music?
Steve(HolyMoly) wrote a brilliant review of it - awarding it with the full monty.
