Does anyone know of an accurate release date for Tool's new album? I've heard that they keep putting it longer and longer but I've haven't heard much about it recently, so as I said, does anyone know the most up-to-date and accurate release date?? Thanks Big smile

Seven years is an eternity to me. I think is better not to think about it so you don't go insane waiting
I look up, I'm almost blinded

by the warmth of what's inside me

and the taste that's in my soul,

but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

They work in Pink Floyd deep time. Meaning it'll take longer and longer, as they grow older, for an album to appear.  LOL

This is going to be "the album released after 10,000 Days" in more than one sense, it seems.

Maynard was on the Joe Rogan Experience a while back and apart from talking about moving to Arizona and a road trip between CA and AZ with (I believe it was) Tim "Herb" Alexander, there was little to no mention of the band or music in general. He talked about wine, though!

Haven't you seen Maynard's instagram with a pic signed "new music happening all fronts" and #tool2014 tag? It's pretty soon, if you ask me

I pretty much lost hope for the album to be out anytime soon after watching Maynard's wine documentary. I think it's fairly obvious they just don't have any passion going towards the project. To make it worse, the longer wait puts more pressure on the album to be special when it finally does come out, so they're going to want to make sure it sounds amazing. it will be the their finale. MAYBE one more tour, which would be great considering I have never seen them. Even if I did, I know I missed out on their prime. Aenima?

I believe that most of the music is written, after which Maynard will write lyrics and the band will record.  Hopefully 2014.

Sweet. Thumbs Up

On a side note: ... Now if only I figured out how to scrobble podcasts (I heard it's possible).

I stumbled upon this little article today

http://www.gigwise.com/news/87789/tool-announce-2014-tour-dates-despite-tedious-wait-for-new-album

Maynard has this to say:

Work has begun on a brand new Tool album, with frontman Maynard James Keenan recently describing the process as 'tedious', expressing his nuisance and having to wait for band members to pen music for new tracks.

"I don't write the music. They write the music," he told Rolling Stone in November 2013. "I wait for them to bring music to me. They tend to go back over and over stuff. It's a long process. For a person like me, it can be a very tedious process. In some ways, they are bigger perfectionists. But you can only help support their talent so long. They don't have to go through it 700 times. They can trust that first thought. But that's their process, so you gotta let them do it." And is that process happening? "I couldn't tell you."
