A very creative and well crafted American band Astronomy somewhat Rush influenced might fit here as heavy prog. Released only one album in 1992. Here are some samples:

Enjoyed this very much, and it sounds to me like something we should have on the site (though I have been wrong many times regarding what I hear as 'prog' compared to the interpretation of it on here by those of higher authority... Embarrassed)

Anyway, here are the other four tracks that are on YouTube:

Don't envy the guy who gets to add them though if they get the nod - they seem pretty obscure to say the least. Shocked

All I could find is (very similar info from all the sources that a google search revealed):

John Di Bernardo / vocals, additional guitars on Spirit (ex-Vanderhoof)
Eric Asplund / bass, keys, lead vocal on Beyond The Mirage, backing vocals
Don Trehuba / guitar, backing vocals
Jim Tomaselli / drums, backing vocals

...And the vocals on a couple of tracks sound like they're female, so who knows how accurate that info actually is. Ermm

They are included on Metal Archives mistakenly categorised as progressive metal, here's the link:

They were actually added there by the same guy who uploaded the album to YouTube...But the album tracklisting on The Metal Archives doesn't include the track 'Atmosphere'... Confused All the other track timings tie up with the YouTube samples, so what has happened to the 'Atmosphere' track in this link I really don't know: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Astronomy/Astronomy/126361

Good stuff though, whatever - & well done indeed for finding it! Clap

Yes, that track is the longest one, so shouldn't be missing.

Well, the good news is that a couple of Amazon marketplace sellers in the US have the CD, for anyone who's interested. A bit pricey though.

Had a quick listen. There's a tendency towards AOR but it might be able to find a place on the site.

And the second listing on Amazon marketplace gives the following info:

1992 RELEASE BY ECLIPSE RECORDS.
7 SONGS: 1~ POLARIS 2~ SPIRIT 3~ BEYOND THE MIRAGE 4~ THE MIRAGE 5~NEW DAY 6~ ASTRONOMY 7~GRAND DESIGN, thus confirming the details on The Metal Archives website.

Which kinda makes you wonder where the 'Atmosphere' track on YouTube actually came from? Ermm

Sheesh! - 69 bucks is a lot of money, however much I enjoyed the music!

^ ''This is actually an Eric Asplund solo track... '' (from the Youtube upload).

I think this band is a borderline one but will ask the Heavy Team to check it out.
