Line-up includes Gilbert Gandil and Jacques Roman of Pulsar.
SIIILK was born from the creative meeting of five musicians from the French city of Lyon. Gilbert GANDIL and Jacques ROMAN, famous for their legendary band PULSAR, joined forces with Richard PICK, Guillaume ANTONICELLI and Attilio TERLIZZI for this new project. Published by the Musea label in the year 2013, "Way To Lhassa" blends music and poetry, taking the listener from the lowlands of Flanders to the butresses of Himalaya, through India. These musical wanderings between chjldhood and adulthood are sublimed by the sounds of Mellotron, keyboards, drums and guitars. Let's also mention brasses, tampuras, Armenian duduk, Indian santur, choirs, and so on. All these elements make this album a timeless masterpiece, in the grand tradition of Progressive rock. Not to be missed !
Edit: Under evaluation by the Crossover Team Edited by seventhsojourn - September 20 2013 at 14:46 |

There already is an answer: Cleared in Crossover some weeks ago: http://progfreak.com/Siiilk-157521.html?path=pa/recent.
There are another 18 cleared bands/artists currently awaiting addition by the team though...and a Hell of a lot more still under evaluation. In other words, Crossover team has a lot on its plate at the moment, so a little patience may be required.

^^ what Dave said above and...
You can speed up the process by providing a bio or some notes to help the team add the band.
Simply by posting a link without any more information certainly does not help.

To be fair to the suggester, he did give the link to the band's website, from where the above bio is copied - it is also reproduced on last.fm, albeit slightly modified: "SIIILK was born in 2011 from the creative meeting of five musicians from the French city of Lyon - namely Gilbert GANDIL and Jacques ROMAN from the band PULSAR, together with Richard PICK, Guillaume ANTONICELLI and Attilio TERLIZZI. Published by the Musea label in the year 2013, the album "Way To Lhassa" blends music and poetry, taking the listener from the lowlands of Flanders to the butresses of Himalaya, through India. These musical wanderings between childhood and adulthood are sublimed by the sounds of Mellotron, keyboards, drums and guitars. Let’s also mention brasses, tampuras, flutes, Armenian duduk, Indian santur, choirs, and so on. All these elements make this album a timeless masterpiece, in the grand tradition of Progressive rock." We could add the following from the band's facebook open group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/189340094529942/ There were a grand total of 42 musicians and singers involved in the creation of the album, as well as the sound engineer Enrico Cacace in Los Angeles, who carried out the final mastering, and Thibaud Pick who was responsible for the mixing, accompanied by the 2 members of Pulsar...not to mention Richard's daughter Catherine, who also added her vocals. The cover and booklet were illustrated by the renowned French artist Kaviiik (Christian Gavignet). The main problem with the Crossover team in terms of adding bands is that they no longer have Olav - an absolutely amazing workhorse - who would dive in as soon as there were more than half a dozen or so cleared bands, and add the whole lot in a single sitting. Chris S also retired recently, leaving just Marty and Scott in the team with sufficient rank to carry out the additions. Scott is also heavily involved with the JR/F team, and Marty with the Errors and Ommissions team, so they both have to divide their time on here accordingly. The above bio, with a bit of minor editing, would be just fine - it is concise, and gives all the necessary basic info. Furthermore, there is only one album to add: http://www.musearecords.com/ext_re_new_releaseselect.php?np=39230 'Way To Lhassa' (FGBG 4927) 1. Childhood's Memories (5:52) 2. Between (6:44) 3. Cathy's Wood (4:56) 4. In The Grey Chapel (1:18) 5. Leaving North (5:25) 6. Midlife Crisis (4:34) 7. Khajuraho Dreams (3:41) 8. Way To Lhassa (6:38) 9. Witness (4:14) 10. Wladyslaw's Marching Band (4:03) Total Time 47:25 Line-up: - Richard Pick / lead vocal, acoustic guitar, tampoura - Gilbert Gandil (Pulsar) / electric and acoustic guitars, dobro, additional keyboards, lap steel - Jacques Roman (Pulsar) / pianos, synthesizers and mellotron - Guillaume Antonicelli / bass guitar - Attilio Terlizzi / drums, gongs With: - Jean-Nicolas Susse / additional keyboards, backing vocals, horn, Indian harmonium - Catherine Pick / vocals - Paul Grant / Indian santur - Gabrielle Vargiu / tranverse flute - Hagop Boyadjian / Armenian duduk - Adrien Bernard / choir direction on track 4, guitar, keyboards, violin, vocals and lyrics on track 10 - Axelle Ciofolo de Peretti / bass clarinet - Bertrand Plé / brass quartet direction on track 10 - Pierre Bassery / trombone - Nicolas Salmon / tuba - Christophe Coronas / trumpet It was released on vinyl at the beginning of August: (Ref. N5442 - N), and on CD towards the end of that month. We just need someone with 5 stars to add it - in the meantime, let's listen to some more from the album... Or stream the whole thing on deezer: http://www.deezer.com/fr/album/6896183. Edited by yam yam - December 02 2013 at 15:20 |
