Man i'm having a hard time choosing between Magma and The Muffins. Love the intensity of MDK but Manna/Mirage is so interesting. I'll vote later.

I can pretty much make a case for each one of these. Seven Up for being completely overlooked for it's funny stealthy acid fuelled whack. I really dig it myself. MDK for being MDK really. This album broke it's mould - at the time there was literally nothing like it out there. It was a culmination of the Zeuhl 'brand', like we know it today, coming together. Manna/Mirage is just awesome and when you reach the last two cuts of Amelia Earhart and The Adventures of Caprain Boomerang the record really starts to cook! Hmm and what about Deuter's D? That one is frigging insane as well! That opening cut takes me on a wild ride every time - merging middle eastern music and that hazy Indian feel with electronics and Krautrock + some of the most aptly placed sound effects and tape trickery.

Nice overview of the albums David. Yeah I agree all four are amazing in their own ways. Deuter's D album and Ash Ra Tempel's Seven Up both have their "out there" moments for sure but also those laid back psychedelic passages. I think i'd take D over Seven Up if pushed but the hard part for me is Manna/Mirage or MDK ? I'm going to give both a second spin because i'm still undecided.
