Hello chaps!
Colin tench from Corvus Stone here. I would like to recommend Oceans 5 for inclusion on Progarchives. I feel it is Progressive/Folk but I can't guarantee that. We have had a few pre-album tracks on sale for a while now. http://melodicrevolutionrecords.com/album/the-return-to-mingulay This actual album is coming out on 7th October. Now we have the honour of a guest on our album that you really should all know. Lorelei McBroom has been the "Great gig in the sky" with Pink Floyd and now Aussie Floyd. There is a great little promo sound clip here: http://www.bunchakeze.com/Lorelei_McBroom_with_Oceans_5.php The lineup you can see on the artwork by Sonia Mota of course. Vic Tassone is the drummer in Unified Past Marco Chiappini keys in The Minstrel'sGhost I play guitars in Corvus Stone, Minstrel's Ghost and BunChakeze. Stef Flaming is also a guest in Corvus Stone (Jussipussi) You can meet Andy John Bradford and Andres Guazzelli. Hope enough of you like what you hear will accept us into the great PA family! Thank you for the suggestion Colin but as for the artist being Prog Folk, no I don't think that spicing up a traditional song with electric guitars and organs qualifies it as such. To me the five tracks sound more like sophisticated melodic rock with standard song structures. Not prog rock imo, I can't really see it in Crossover either.

Thanks for checking it Chris
I guess crossover could be the place. I never like the idea of genres as most of us here don't. My take on what is prog is .. It isn't really anything else. This album is not proper folk or rock or anything accepted in the mainstream, therefore crossover. Certainly never thought of Iron Maiden or Metallica as prog but of course they are here. Can I resuggest us for crossover then? Ha ha. Just realised the tracks you heard are the most "normal" ones. If anyone would like to check the whole thing, I have it right here. |

I love this album. They should be in PA and the best place is crossover.

I agree with Lucas.
While my initial feeling is prog-folk, other responses lead me to believe that crossover is the place for them. They have been added to ProgFreak, and the voting has begun.

Don't worry.
Oceans 5 was cleared for crossover very quickly. I'm looking forward to what may be the first disco album I might enjoy.

Wow!!! You all just made our day. Thank you! Now I have to figure out what info is needed and who to send it to?. I am a very bad secretary. I play bum notes just as well on a typewriter as I do on a geetar.
Now I have been set a task to get an disco album done. Hmmm. Saturday night femur. We shall be called Corvus Pips |

If you have a bio (with permission for us to post), and a photo of the band, we can get the entry up quickly.
And should it be "Oceans 5" or "Andy John Bradford's Oceans 5"?

I see we have been added! Fabulous. Who should I get the correct into to, for the bio and an mp3 for example? I see the bio there has strange question marks all over it and is the wrong one .
Thank you PA! |
