Topic: Best post PG Genesis studio album Posted: September 24 2013 at 19:05 |
I was initially going to only go up to Duke but figured since there is room why not include all the studio albums.

I rank Trick and Wuthering about equal but I'm going to go for Wuthering because I like "Blood on the Rooftops" more than any other post PG Genesis song...

I guess it would have been more interesting to do a post Hacket albums poll, because certainly both albums with Hackett are getting all the votes.

A Trick of the Tail has a certain pleasant "spookiness" to it like no other album.

I finally voted in my own poll. I voted for ATOTT. It's my favorite Genesis album period.

Really? The only Genesis album that sounds spooky to me is Trespass.

I agree Trespass has a real spooky feel to it, PG era though. It is a hard poll cos all their albums up to 1983 were excellent. It looks like ATTWT gets a bum rap, what an album especially as Hackett had departed

Wind and Wuthering, followed by A Trick of the Tail. I prefer the SH era.

Trick, then Wind.
Then Hackett left and it all went horribly wrong.

That's a great way to describe the slightly "other-worldly" atmosphere of Trespass, which is nevertheless a brilliant album.
