Tortoise is a really cool band that deserves to be widely heard. However, I voted Marillion but only for the Fish era.

Absolutely. He would be an ideal dinner guest.
In fact, when Marillion recorded Radiation in Oswestry, we saw them a couple of times in local hostelries and restaurants. All of them are very good company.
It is utterly beyond me when people describe them as "boring" when they plainly have never met, seen, or even listened to them.
